Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how CodShot Kft. ("CodShot", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies, local storage, session storage, pixels, and similar technologies on the CodShot website and application.
Optional analytics and marketing technologies are not loaded until you select Accept all in the cookie notice. If you select Reject, Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel are not loaded.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They can help websites maintain sessions, remember settings, protect accounts, measure website usage, and provide requested functionality.
CodShot may also use similar browser technologies, including:
- local storage,
- session storage,
- tracking pixels,
- browser identifiers,
- similar technical storage mechanisms.
2. Categories of technologies used by CodShot
CodShot uses or may use the following categories:
- Essential and security technologies: required for the service, authentication, session integrity, account security, and fraud or abuse prevention.
- Preference storage: used to remember interface choices such as theme, workspace layout, and dismissed notices.
- Analytics technologies: used to understand website traffic and improve the service after consent.
- Marketing and attribution technologies: used to measure Meta campaign traffic and advertising performance after consent.
- Third-party technologies: used by external providers when you request services such as OAuth authentication or payment processing.
3. Essential and security technologies
CodShot uses essential cookies and similar technologies for core functionality, including:
- login and authentication,
- session handling,
- remember-me functionality where enabled,
- email verification and two-factor authentication flows,
- CSRF protection,
- account and session security,
- fraud, spam, and abuse prevention,
- language routing,
- cookie consent storage,
- checkout and subscription functionality,
- core application features.
These technologies are necessary for CodShot to operate and are not controlled by the optional cookie consent choice. Blocking them through your browser may prevent login, checkout, workspace features, or other parts of CodShot from working correctly.
4. Preference and browser storage
CodShot may use local storage or session storage to remember preferences and temporary application state, including:
- light or dark theme,
- workspace layout and panel preferences,
- grid or list view preferences,
- interface settings,
- temporarily dismissed messages or notices,
- cookie consent choice.
The current cookie consent choice is stored in local storage under the key codshot_cookie_consent_v2.
Preference storage generally remains on your device until it expires, is replaced, or is cleared through your browser settings.
5. Cookie consent choices
The CodShot cookie notice provides the following choices:
- Reject: Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel are not loaded.
- Accept all: Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel are loaded and may use cookies or similar technologies.
Essential and security technologies remain active regardless of your optional cookie choice because they are required to provide the website and application.
CodShot may ask you to make a new choice when the consent mechanism, the technologies used, or this Cookie Policy materially changes.
6. Google Analytics 4
After you select Accept all, CodShot loads Google Analytics 4, provided by Google.
Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors reach and use CodShot, identify technical problems, evaluate website performance, and improve the service.
Analytics data may include:
- pages visited,
- page titles and page paths,
- referral sources,
- UTM campaign parameters,
- browser and device information,
- screen and technical information,
- session and interaction information,
- technical performance information.
Google Analytics may use first-party cookies, including cookies such as _ga and related measurement cookies, to distinguish visitors and sessions.
The CodShot Google Analytics Measurement ID is G-NQYQ237S7F.
Google Analytics is not loaded when you select Reject or before you make a cookie choice.
More information about Google's processing practices is available in the Google Privacy Policy.
7. Meta Pixel
After you select Accept all, CodShot loads the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta.
The Meta Pixel is used to measure visits associated with Meta platforms and campaigns and to understand the performance of CodShot marketing activities.
The current CodShot implementation sends a basic PageView event after consent when a page is loaded.
The CodShot Meta Pixel ID is 933591653118502.
Depending on the browser, referral source, Meta settings, and available campaign information, Meta may use cookies or similar identifiers and process technical information relating to the website visit.
No additional Meta standard or custom conversion events are currently configured. If CodShot introduces additional marketing events, this Cookie Policy may be updated accordingly.
The Meta Pixel is not loaded when you select Reject or before you make a cookie choice.
More information about Meta's processing practices is available in the Meta Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party services
Some external services may use their own cookies or similar technologies when you actively use their functionality. These providers may include:
- Google or GitHub for optional OAuth authentication,
- Stripe for payment and subscription processing,
- Google Analytics for consented website analytics,
- Meta for consented marketing attribution and campaign measurement,
- other security, infrastructure, email, or support providers where necessary.
Third-party technologies are controlled by the relevant provider and are subject to that provider's own privacy, cookie, and data processing policies.
9. Information sent to third-party analytics and marketing providers
After consent, analytics or marketing providers may receive information generated by your interaction with CodShot, including:
- the page or URL visited,
- the referring website or campaign,
- the date and time of the visit,
- browser and device information,
- cookie or browser identifiers,
- technical request and connection information,
- events generated by the enabled measurement tool.
CodShot does not intentionally include passwords, private snippet contents, payment card numbers, or private workspace content in Google Analytics or Meta Pixel events.
10. Storage duration
Different cookies and storage technologies may remain on your device for different periods:
- session cookies generally expire when the browser session ends,
- remember-me or security cookies may remain for a longer defined period,
- local storage may remain until it is cleared or replaced,
- analytics and marketing cookies follow the retention settings and policies of the relevant provider.
Cookie names and storage periods may change when browsers, providers, or CodShot functionality are updated.
11. Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can withdraw or reset your optional cookie consent by clearing the cookies and site data stored for codshot.com in your browser and then reloading the website. The cookie notice will be displayed again.
You can also manage, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- delete existing cookies and site data,
- block all cookies,
- block third-party cookies,
- control storage permissions for individual websites.
Blocking essential cookies may prevent authentication, account security, checkout, workspace features, or other parts of CodShot from working correctly.
12. Local storage and session storage
You can usually view or clear local storage and session storage through your browser's site data or privacy settings.
Clearing this storage may reset your theme, workspace layout, interface preferences, dismissed notices, and cookie consent choice.
13. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when CodShot adds or removes technologies, changes its consent mechanism, introduces new analytics or marketing events, or when legal or regulatory requirements change.
The latest version will always be available on this page, together with its last updated date.
