Welcome to CodShot. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the CodShot website, application, services, features, and related content. By creating an account, accessing, or using CodShot, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use CodShot.

2. The CodShot service
CodShot is a software-as-a-service platform that helps users save, organize, manage, generate, improve, share, and discover code snippets, notes, learning materials, project-related knowledge, and developer resources.
The service may include workspace features, public snippet discovery, collaboration tools, AI-assisted code features, subscriptions, account settings, referral features, and other related functionality.
3. Eligibility
You may use CodShot only if you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement and if your use of the service is permitted under applicable law.
If you use CodShot on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on behalf of that organization.
4. User accounts
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate and current information when creating or updating your account.
You must not share access to your account, impersonate another person, create misleading accounts, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to another account or system.
5. Authentication and third-party login
CodShot may allow users to sign in using email and password, Google, GitHub, or other supported authentication providers.
When you use a third-party login provider, your use of that provider is also subject to its own terms and privacy policy.
We may suspend or restrict login methods if needed for security, abuse prevention, or technical reasons.
6. User content
You remain the owner of the code snippets, notes, files, images, project information, comments, and other content that you create, upload, save, generate, or share through CodShot.
By using CodShot, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, transmit, display, copy, format, index, and technically handle your content only as necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the service.
You are solely responsible for your content and for ensuring that you have all necessary rights to upload, save, publish, share, or process it through CodShot.
7. Prohibited content and conduct
You must not use CodShot to upload, store, generate, share, or distribute content that:
- violates applicable law or regulation,
- infringes intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties,
- contains malware, spyware, ransomware, credential-stealing code, or intentionally harmful instructions,
- attempts to exploit, attack, overload, scan, or compromise systems without authorization,
- is abusive, deceptive, harassing, hateful, or otherwise harmful,
- contains personal data that you are not authorized to process or share,
- is used for spam, phishing, fraud, or misleading activity.
You must not interfere with the proper operation of CodShot, attempt to bypass limits, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, misuse APIs, scrape content at scale without permission, or use the service in a way that creates legal, security, or operational risk.
8. Public and shared content
CodShot may allow you to make snippets or other content public, share content with other users, or collaborate within projects.
If you make content public or share it with others, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to do so and that the content does not contain confidential, private, restricted, or unlawful material.
Public content may be visible to other users and visitors, may be indexed by search engines, and may be copied or referenced by others.
CodShot may remove, restrict, or disable public or shared content if we believe it violates these Terms, applicable law, third-party rights, or security standards.
9. Collaboration and sharing
CodShot may provide collaboration and sharing features. Access granted to another user may allow that user to view, interact with, or, where supported, work with content inside a shared workspace or project.
You are responsible for managing who has access to your content and for reviewing permissions before sharing or inviting collaborators.
CodShot is not responsible for content changes, copying, disclosure, or misuse caused by users to whom you granted access.
10. AI-assisted features
CodShot may provide AI-assisted features, such as code generation, code improvement, image-to-code, file-to-code, metadata generation, or similar tools.
AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, insecure, outdated, or unsuitable for your specific use case. You are responsible for reviewing, testing, validating, and securing any AI-generated or AI-assisted output before using it.
You must not submit confidential, sensitive, restricted, or third-party content to AI features unless you have the legal right and permission to do so.
We may apply usage limits, quotas, rate limits, or feature restrictions to AI-assisted features depending on your plan, technical capacity, cost control, or abuse prevention needs.
11. Plans, limits, and feature availability
CodShot may offer free and paid plans with different limits, features, quotas, storage allowances, collaboration options, AI usage limits, or other restrictions.
Plan features and limits may be displayed on the pricing page, account pages, checkout pages, or other parts of the service.
We may update, add, remove, or modify features over time. We will try to avoid materially reducing paid plan functionality during an active billing period, but some changes may be required for legal, security, technical, or operational reasons.
12. Payments and subscriptions
Paid plans may be billed on a monthly, yearly, or other recurring basis as shown before purchase.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
By purchasing a paid plan, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the selected payment method according to the selected plan, billing period, taxes, and fees shown at checkout.
If a payment fails, your access to paid features may be limited, suspended, downgraded, or cancelled.
13. Cancellation, downgrade, and refunds
You may cancel a paid subscription according to the cancellation options available in your account or through customer support.
Unless otherwise stated, cancellation usually takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and access to paid features may continue until that period ends.
Downgrades may take effect immediately or at the end of the current billing period, depending on the plan and billing setup.
Refunds are handled according to applicable law, the checkout terms, and our refund policy in effect at the time of purchase. Where mandatory consumer rights apply, nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
14. Taxes
Prices may be shown exclusive or inclusive of applicable taxes depending on your location and the checkout setup.
You are responsible for any taxes, duties, or charges applicable to your purchase unless they are collected directly during checkout.
15. Referral, bonus, and promotional features
CodShot may offer referral rewards, bonus periods, promotional credits, free months, AI credits, or similar incentives.
These benefits may be subject to eligibility rules, abuse prevention checks, expiration dates, and plan-specific limitations.
We may withhold, revoke, or adjust promotional benefits if we detect misuse, fraud, self-referrals, duplicate accounts, payment abuse, or other activity that violates the purpose of the promotion.
16. Storage and backups
CodShot may store user content, uploaded files, generated files, avatars, images, and other materials depending on the features used.
We take reasonable steps to protect stored data, but you remain responsible for keeping your own backups of important code, notes, files, and project materials.
CodShot is not responsible for loss of data caused by user error, deletion, account misuse, technical failure, third-party services, unauthorized access, force majeure, or events outside our reasonable control.
17. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect CodShot and user accounts. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.
You must notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised or if you discover a security vulnerability.
You must not publicly disclose vulnerabilities or exploit them before giving us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and fix the issue.
18. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep CodShot available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or permanently available operation.
The service may be modified, updated, limited, suspended, or discontinued in whole or in part.
We may perform maintenance, deploy updates, change infrastructure, or temporarily restrict access when needed.
19. Third-party services
CodShot may rely on third-party providers for hosting, database infrastructure, authentication, email delivery, media storage, AI processing, analytics, monitoring, payment processing, customer support, or other technical services.
We are not responsible for failures, interruptions, data handling, or policy changes caused by third-party providers beyond our reasonable control.
20. Intellectual property
CodShot, including its design, branding, interface, code, software, features, logos, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not grant you ownership of CodShot or any intellectual property belonging to us.
You may not copy, resell, redistribute, modify, or create derivative works from CodShot except as expressly permitted by law or by written permission from us.
21. Feedback and ideas
If you submit feedback, suggestions, feature requests, ideas, or bug reports, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation, unless we separately agree otherwise in writing.
You confirm that your feedback does not contain confidential information that you are not authorized to share.
22. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the service, create legal or security risks, fail to pay fees, attempt to bypass limits, or harm other users, the platform, or third-party systems.
You may stop using CodShot at any time. You may also request account deletion, subject to legal, billing, security, technical, or legitimate retention requirements.
23. Disclaimer
CodShot is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee that the service will meet your requirements, that code or AI-generated output will be correct or secure, or that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.
24. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CodShot and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunities, or expected savings.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid to CodShot for the service during the 12 months before the claim arose, or 100 EUR if you used only the free service.
25. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold CodShot harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights or applicable law.
26. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we may notify users through the service, by email, or by other reasonable means.
Continued use of CodShot after the updated Terms become effective means that you accept the updated Terms.
27. Governing law
Unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary.
